Hellen Systems is primarily focused on the development and deployment of enhanced LORAN (eLORAN) as an independent and resilient back up capability to the Global Positioning System through a Public Private Partnership with governments world wide. The Hellen Systems Team is working now with the United States Government and other nations to reestablish eLORAN as an onshore, trusted, resilient and best-in-class GPS/GNSS complementary PNT system for all modes and users.
Prior to founding Hellen Systems, Bridge was the Vice President of Membership for the Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) overseeing all membership and business development activity. Previously he served as the Chief Contracts Officer for Exelis Inc. a large multi-national aerospace and defense contractor. In this role, Bridge was responsible for the overall operations of the Contracts, Subcontracts and Supply Chain organization across the company. This encompassed over 400 staff professionals in 31 different locations throughout the US and overseas with $4b in annual revenues and $1.6b of supply chain spend. His primary responsibilities included corporate wide contracts & subcontract leadership, business development and bid negotiations, compliance, efficiency implementation, customer relations and issue resolution directly with the US Government. Prior to joining Exelis, Bridge supported the US intelligence community with General Dynamics as a Contracts Manager. Bridge received his BS in History and Political Science at Radford University and his Juris Doctor from the University of Richmond School of Law. Bridge is also the current Mayor of the Town of Middleburg, VA.
Nancy Smith is Hellen Systems’ Vice President managing eLoran system integration, demonstration and deployment efforts. Prior to Hellen Systems, Nancy was a Senior Manager for Program Management at L3Harris Corporation. She led L3Harris’ Automatic Dependent Surveillance – Broadcast (ADS-B) Program and provided program management support to numerous business captures. Previously Nancy held Senior Director, Program Management and Systems Engineering positions at Advanced Acoustic Concepts, Rockwell Collins, General Dynamics, and Unisys. At Advanced Acoustic Concepts, Nancy was the Senior Director of Air Platform Programs responsible for domestic and international acoustic trainer programs supporting MH-60, P-3 and P-8 air platforms.
While at Rockwell Collins, Nancy was a Programs Manager leading the E-2D Hawkeye Integrated Training Systems Programs for Aircrew and Maintenance, the E-2C Weapons System Trainer Program and the MH-60S/R Weapons Load Trainer Programs. During her tenure at General Dynamics Nancy led Submarine Weapons and Towed Array Sonar Programs and supported the Tactical Combat Control System. At Unisys Corporation, Nancy supported the Navy’s Strategic Systems Program Office as Corporate Liaison for the Navigation portion of the Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) Weapons Program and at Electric Boat Shipyard as a Systems Field Engineer supporting Ohio Class submarine construction. Nancy holds a Master’s Degree in Engineering Management from The Catholic University of America and a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from Villanova University.
